Vegware's home compostable range of products are designed to break down into organic matter in home compost piles. This means it can be safely added to a backyard compost bin or pile and will decompose naturally, without leaving behind harmful residues.

Aqueous coated food packaging is a type of packaging material that uses water-based coatings instead of traditional solvent-based ones.

Home Compostable: After use, this product can simply be disposed of in a home compost system and will decompose back to organic matter within 6-8 weeks.
Environmental Friendliness: Aqueous coatings are generally considered more eco-friendly due to their lower VOC emissions.
Improved Safety: They pose fewer health risks compared to solvent-based coatings.
Enhanced Barrier Properties: They can provide effective barriers against moisture, grease, and oxygen.

All Vegware products are commercially compostable - this means they will break down entirely in under 12 weeks in an industrial composting facility. If organics / industrial compost collections are available this means your Vegware cup, lid, plate, fork & napkin can all be disposed of alongside your leftover chips.

Vegware's disposable catering supplies are all designed with same day / immediate foodservice in mind, not for long-term use. So we can't really say how our products perform in the freezer or microwave, as they haven't been designed or tested for it.

If you intend to use any Vegware products outside of the intended purpose, we always recommend requesting samples and testing their suitability for yourself. The samples are free - just let us know what you're after.
